A Guide To Creating Your Logo

Have you ever wanted to hire a graphic designer to create a logo, but not sure on how it works? Today is your lucky day. We are here to guide you on our creative process.

Creating logos has been a passion of ours for a long time. We get extremely satisfied when we create a brand that resonates with our clients audience and expectations. We keep it simple, unique, and involve you in the entire process!

1. Getting To Know Your Brand Personality & Business Goals

We start each project by understanding our clients.

  • Why was the business founded?

  • What is the vision?

  • What is YOUR unique story?

This step involves establishing a selection of personality keywords that can be used to describe your brand. These details are vital for achieving every project’s main objectives, and we can help you direct it towards success.

2. Brand Name and Style

Steve Jobs named his hardware and software company Apple in the midst of his ‘Fruitarian diet’ because it sounded simple, fun, spirited and not intimidating. The rest, of course, is history!

Good names, like good logos, evoke a strong passion for your brand, while bad names elicit distaste or worse - indifference. A great brand name can be a solid competitive advantage for your company.

Don’t have any ideas for your brand name? We got your back. Once the name of your brand is set and we know your preferred style, the execution stage begins.

3. Logo Design

Here’s where we spend a week or two doing our research work and explore numerous concept designs, experimenting with different ideas for your logo. Once we have a couple of options and directions, we will present them to you.

4. Design Revision

Rather than just creating pretty pictures, we always aim to provide effective, timeless solutions for every project. Revisions usually include adjustments for design elements such as color palette, typography, or heading towards a new direction entirely, we usually offer 3 rounds of revisions.

We use the help of mock-ups to help you make a decision on which logo you like. A mock-up is a model of a design or device, used for product presentations or other purposes. Think of it as a means of showing off what your design will actually look like when it's put out into the real world. We want to show you that the logos that we create work well when printed, whether on a small or large scale items.

5. File Delivery

Once the final logo design has been approved by the client, we prepare all the necessary files for you. These file types include the AI (Adobe Illustrator) file and PNG files as standard, covering the majority of use cases a business will need to apply their logo design in. If your designer does not provide you with the files mentioned above, you definitely need a new designer.

A carefully crafted branding strategy can go a long way in etching a solid identity for a new venture and can define its success. Whether it is a brand name or a logo, each and every element has the potential to create a cohesive brand personality that consumers not only remember but also take pride in being associated with.

The clients we work with appreciate the level of quality and professionalism we bring to the table. Don’t take our word for it, here’s what some of them have to say:

"Lumos has handled PLV's branding ever since its inception and I couldn't ask for a better team. They kickstarted the branding concepts and label designs, and don't need much instructions to deliver the best possible outcome." - Lara Kirpalani, Pasta La Vista

"Working with Lumos has been a great experience. As someone who absolutely has no experience with marketing and design, I had a lot of issues with regards to branding when starting up my own company. Lumos took over the entire branding, from coming up with names and logos, to taglines and colour schemes. Working with Lumos was an extremely seamless experience." - Hanisha Danani, Duty Calls.

"It has been a real pleasure working with Lumos. The whole process from the initial contact to the completed project was extremely well managed. I was very impressed with how quickly and effectively my feedback was incorporated into the final design. Your work clearly stands out and your attention to detail is insanely phenomenal. This really resonates with myself as someone who values this." - Leena Chainani, Party-O-Logy
